Congratulations to Troy Lennon on his historical piece about the blind activist Fanya Kaplan shooting Lenin in 1918. (History: “Blind female anarchist executed for Lenin plot”, 30/8). On account of her poor vision, unfamiliarity with guns and the darkness at the site, the report casts doubt on her guilt. To the contrary, missing her target at close range definitively proves her guilt. The dark environment would make no difference to the near-blind. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 31Aug2018.
