On the third anniversary of the murders of police officers Rachel McCrow, Matthew Arnold and civilian Alan Dare at Wieambilla, memories of their courage and service have not faded in our hearts. With their inquest revealing gross failures in communication between the NSW and Queensland Police, the families should be quickly compensated and not further traumatised by a drawn out court case (“Murdered cop’s families sue force for negligence”, DT, 5/12). When all recommendations of the coroner are enacted, Rachel and Matthew’s legacy will surely be added to with greater integration of police intelligence sharing and the safest possible workplace. RIP to these champions in blue. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 6Dec2025
