The involvement of India in the British Empire has surely proven to be a blessing to many young Indians, who may now migrate to a wide selection of current or former dominions, understanding the law, language, culture, political system and economic principles. India has a highly skilled, medically educated population, some currently working in our best hospitals in Sydney. The marvellous links extolled by a beaming Australian Prime Minister at Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday night are surely the products of our links to empire, which should never be devalued.
