While not wishing to jump on the “let’s bash Malcolm” bandwagon, he must not be allowed any licence for blatant historical deception. (Mal’s coal shoulder, 7/4). His suggestion that News Corporation was the chief catalyst against him, following a career-long campaign of sabotage is similar baloney to what emanated from Kevin Rudd’s own lips recently. Like a punch-drunk fighter, Malcolm has forgotten who was in his corner during the same-sex marriage battle. His policies opposing Tony Abbott knighting Prince Philip, innovative job creation programs, restoring CSIRO funding and increasing female cabinet positions were repetitively receiving iron-clad support from News Corp. To forget who supported him seems to be a well-practised mannerism of the man, negating the need for reciprocal loyalty. Offering commentators a forum for free discussion is not partisan.
