As a standard bearer of free speech, your editorial that denigrates the absence of a trustworthy media in China deserves wholesome endorsement. (China’s facts versus reality, 15/2). I am equally critical of China’s factually squalid interventions in foreign media, extending to criticism of the Australian government. Condemning us for restricting the inflow of potentially afflicted citizens is hypocritical since they themselves are correctly containing the flow of all citizens out of Hubei province. The Chinese communist government should be thanking countries worldwide for extending the visas of their citizens who were due to return to China, but are preferring not to do so until safe. Blocking international traffic is not racist and is proving a beneficial refuge to many of our very welcome guests from China. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 17 Feb2020.
