As the ADF has chosen to consider Australian troops in Afghanistan to have behaved badly in the fever pitch of battle against an innocent, unarmed and obviously good-hearted enemy, perhaps the magnanimity of these armchair bureaucrats might be extended to rescuing the many translators and auxiliary staff, who collaborated with our soldiers. The medieval Taliban warriors are now murdering opponents and showing zero mercy to the women and children. Should a military evacuation be staged, little doubt the elite SAS Regiment, with some help from Special Operations Task Force will be most useful. Perhaps their critics should go along too. A list of grievances from the Taliban after any evacuation might then genuinely be discounted when critics have had first-hand experience. Alan Sexton North Parramatta 29Jan2023.
