A sensible tradition of the British Royal Family is to avoid having the heir and his/her family travelling together in aircraft, lest several successors are wiped out together in an accident. With Prince William often piloting his helicopter with Kate and the kids onboard, it seems he is surely testing fate and deserved recent criticism from the King for risking putting Harry and Meghan on the throne as Charles’ successors. After the latest media car-crash interview on US TV with the Sussexes, the future of the monarchy would be seriously at risk. With so much “public ownership” and interest in the familial aspect of royalty, much of the past vitriol from Harry and Meghan would not be easily forgiven. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 19Aug2024
