Regaling the Australian way of life in such an optimistic and inspiring manner at the IPA, News Corp chairman Lachlan Murdoch reminded me of his exceedingly polite manner when I incidentally met him at the airport 20 years ago (Murdoch: we must preserve our optimism and fairness, 30/3). Utterly humble and benign then, the language he used in his speech was genuine and all from the heart.
