With the recent introduction of mobile phone detection cameras across NSW, the sentencing of Lisa Mottram to jail for four years is another big warning to everyone, especially our technologically logged-in young people. (“Ex of Eels boss jailed”, 30/11). Texting while you are driving can have life-destroying consequences. Communicating the message of dangerous behaviour to young people is a difficult task, as exemplified by the party drugs issue. This remains an irony in the digital age.
