Congratulations to the Albanese Labor Government for correctly asserting that battery manufacturer Energy Renaissance was indeed a “trailblazer of the future”, but in a different context as it went into administration this week, as many others will follow in Australia if energy costs continue to escalate (“Battery firm goes broke on our cash”, DT, 16/8). This highlights that the fictitious dreams of “net-zero” better describe the companies surviving energy costs rises rather than issues of carbon dioxide balance. Granting the firm $750,000 previously, governments must accept that in the real world, clever ideas or terrific intellectual patents are irrelevant if your potential customers can’t afford the end product. The collapse of post-war communist Europe proves that the rules of economic feasibility cannot be forever suspended by raining subsidies from their treasuries. Australians cannot afford the net zero madness of the Left. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 18Aug2025
