NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay has announced her Shadow Cabinet (Labor’s strange shadow puppets, 4/7). With 26 members getting a promotion, it’s regrettable that she exhausted credible portfolios and adopted a few from comic television. A portfolio for walking reminded me of the Ministry of Silly Walks from the Monty Python’s Flying Circus. While originality and thinking outside the box can solve problems, maintaining credibility so people keep listening is a greater priority.
