No injustice of greater proportions has surely been reported than the sacking of ACT primary school principal Janelle Rowe (“Teacher adrift for ‘Purple’ day stand”, DT, 8/9). What a shame that the silent majority of other principals and parents who agree with her have decided not to rock the boat. Children should never be exposed to issues of sexuality in primary school, especially without parental consent or knowledge. Janelle Rowe must be immediately reinstated to her position. If the entire ACT Education Directorate has nothing to say in defence of its position, then there can be little sympathy when their bureaucrats are axed because of their treatment of Ms Rowe. Rational opinion ought be mustered and it is surely time for people to speak up for this very inspirational woman. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 9Sept 2026
