Having consistently visited Cairns yearly for the last four years, I applaud this area for its terrific Christmas weather while the deep south, where I come from, roasted. While the irukandji jelly fish and sizeable crocodiles make the beaches less appealing for most tourists, there might be a great business opportunity here. Big game hunters of the US pay a fortune for a hunting licence while on safari in Africa. Most of these opportunities are now restricted due to the need to protect endangered species.
