Occasionally appearing at acting awards ceremonies, sharing the limelight with her famous daughter Nicole, Janelle Kidman’s life as wife and mother might often have been out of her control as those around her brimmed with success. (Kidman heartbreak at passing of her ‘mama”, DT, 9/9). Solidly grounded and always proving to be the rock on which this family could always rely, the passing of this amazing woman should be lamented by a nation that values no-nonsense characters and strong family principles. Having met Janelle and her husband Antony when they were doing a Blue Mountains holiday walking hike in 1999, one was struck by their down to earth manner, intelligent discussion and optimism. They were brimming with a cheerfulness which imbued all around them and obviously left a lasting impression. I’d like to offer much love and commiserations to all suffering this unexpected loss.
