Kyle Sandilands has proven himself perennially controversial, so any improvement in ratings perhaps says more about the competition. (KIIS and tell them who rules the radio, 9/11). Inheriting the Alan Jones mantle, Ben Fordham surprised Sydney when he beat Ray Hadley for the prized spot. With Jones’s intellect previously bringing home the bacon at 2GB, it seems the breakfast slot across Sydney radio now is best referenced by who gets egg on his face, sounds like a sausage or ends up toast, a role perhaps perfect for carefree Kyle. Losing his kindergarten-standard ‘Thought of the Day’ might well give Ben Fordham a much-needed lift to stem the exodus. With 13 per cent of his previous listener base evaporating, there is much cause for anxiety among advertisers and a reminder to never take listeners for granted. Commentary :  Ben Fordham improved  in  the  ratings but  kept his thought of the day for a few more  months before sensibly heeding  the  advice in this letter.
