With biting humor leaving our ribs sore from laughing, Telegraph cartoonist Warren Brown knows no bounds with his irreverence toward the billowing self importance of Kevin Rudd. (Why the cost of construction of the Australian Embassy in Washington blew out – Cartoon, 6/3). In Louis XIV pastels, posing like the “Sun King” himself, the prospect of building the Aussie embassy around this enlarged pictorial edifice of gilded frame and crisscrossed canvas would be one logical explanation for a cost blowout. Sadly, having attempted to politely greet Mr Rudd once at prepoll, I found myself rebuffed. The ego was not a rumor after all. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta. 7Mar2023
