While Parramatta is only a hop, skip and a jump from Bellevue Hill, which needs no translation by Aboriginal linguists, one might feel a little sympathy for Parramatta’s newest son up for adoption. (Making a meal of it: ALP candidate’s eatery quiz a dog’s breakfast, 5/5). In Andy’s defence, he could have given a bogan answer by saying “McDonalds”, “Hungry Jacks” and “Oporto”, when identifying our best restaurants, but he would have alienated 100 per cent of those patronising our more familiar Eat Street precinct. Sabotaged from within, his campaign might be helped by hiring more locals to edit his pamphlets and cancel the ads at Westfield Parramatta, where the ALP uses a two-storey monitor, which resembles a giant parachute with glass canopy and cable suspension wires. His bad luck is contagious. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 6May2022.
