There is no more worthy call to action by the Sunday Telegraph than the urgent plea to help Lifeline at this critical juncture of its threatened survival. With a shortage of volunteers and 6000 calls for help being ignored weekly, our hearts ought to sink. Despairing of self-worth and engrossed in malignant demons savaging inner thoughts, what greater betrayal could manifest than being exiled to hear a last ringtone? Departments within the public service should be urgently recruited to fill the void until every single call is answered. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 7May2023.
