Andrew Bolt has very succinctly described the nonsense that is the stolen generation. (Second stolen bid, 29/3). To be “stolen” from a family, it must exist. The cases identified by Justice Maurice O’Loughlin in the Federal Court were often from broken families with no critical services available to little children. Enforcing state laws that require education of all children often resulted in distance education in the form of Radio Australia broadcasts or boarding school for all children living in Australia’s isolated terrain. An examination of the infant mortality when children weren’t “stolen” might offer some balance to the debate. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta. 30Apr2021.
