While I will always be a fierce advocate for freedom of expression (and uncensored letters to the editor), the ideas being expressed should not be foolish nor blatantly hypocritical. Blockade Australia advocates for less use of hydrocarbons in our vehicular transport, yet blocks highways, resulting in tonnes of pollutants emanating from idling cars and trucks (Force to target climate pests, 25/3). My real concern remains, who will take responsibility when a police rescuer is killed while intervening in one of these bizarre charades? Placing themselves in dangerous positions, including lying down on highways, will result in deaths soon. The trust protesters are placing in enraged motorists is misplaced.
