Having the proverbial nine lives of a cat must sound like a great blessing if you are the Comanchero bikie boss in the middle of a war on the streets of Sydney.  (It is extraordinary he’s alive, 31/5). The tenth bullet fired into the body of Tarek Zahed should theoretically have determined his fate out-side the gym on May 10, but our world-class medical system must not be underestimated. After the traumas of Covid, every member of NSW Health can hold their head high in the light of the miracle of Zahed’s recovery. Such is the proficiency of our systems to establish best medical practice that a great outcome like this case can happen, inspiring all that their sacrifices at work are not unrecognised and in vain. One must pray that Tarek does not squander his new lease of life. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta. 1Jun2022.
