If all’s fair in politics, since the Labor Party has legendary Trojan horse and Nemesis superstar Malcolm Turnbull, it is only right that the Liberals have seemingly hyper-energised Chris Bowen to help them win the next election. Giving the “thumbs-up” to 2050 zero emissions, it seems Labor have used their thumbs to do the maths too, underestimating their energy balance sheet by 50 per cent. I guess leaving the “Os” out of the debate started when CO2 was abbreviated to just “carbon”. Doing the same with cost estimates is egregious and should bear significant electoral consequences. Omitting the cost of home batteries was careless, but I’m guessing that Mr Bowen hasn’t included the cost of all the potential house fires either. Having taken all the energy out of Bill Shorten’s 2019 election campaign with his advice of “not voting for Labor if you hate our policies”, I reckon he has “out-Malcolm-ed” Malcolm!
