While the left hand may well and truly have know what the right hand was doing in the busy office of Transport Minister Jo Haylen, I guess future submissions of opinion pieces by the too-politically-astute Mr Kieren Ash will all end up in the Telegraph’s dustbin (“Emails show Haylen in know”, DT, 27/11). Perhaps the minister might have been wiser to adopt Al for overcoming writers block and generating word craft befitting this newspaper. It’s a little surprising that the minister appears to lack the confidence and self-assurance to pitch her own ideas in the public forum and to enjoy the cut and thrust of debate. With The Daily Telegraph having a much larger audience than the parliament, she should surely relish golden opportunities rather than lazily utilising a ghost writer, who regrettably might be prophetic of her imminent new career as a ghost minister.
