As activist-at-large and all-round media-hog Greta Thunberg finds her Freedom Flotilla under attack from unwelcome night flares, she perhaps ought be grateful that she is in relatively safe Tunisian waters (“Greta’s Gaza aid boat ‘hit by drone’ strike”. DT, 10/9). If the lethality of drone warfare is to be believed, one must expect that since her “Family Boat” is not at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, the Tunisian National Guard spokesman is correct and no drones were even involved Greta is wise indeed to keep well south on her trek to Gaza. Undoubtedly, if this incident had occurred in Italian waters, the bureaucratic investigation and paperwork for which this nation is famous would have locked down Greta’s fleet until the Second Coming. As Greta’s ships place themselves in harm’s way, a fatal strike on them would be blamed on Israel and feed the propaganda war, the tide of which is rising unfairly against the Jewish state. Ironically, Israel must do everything to keep them safe. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 11Sept2025
