Admissions by US President Donald Trump that he doesn’t like Kevin Rudd and “probably never will” certainly resonate with the vast majority of Australians. The interaction reflects the Don’s brilliant skill in reading people and being upfront in his dealings with those likely to be less than supportive of the current Washington administration. Our Prime Minister Anthony Albanese received a very hospitable reception. Echoing the sentiments of Letters correspondents in this publication on Monday, Trump noted that our military fought as one and were united in deepest friendship on the battlefields of history. The fact that it took nine months to meet Trump and that Albanese was 50th in line is actually an asset of which we should be proud. (Albo comes 50th on The Donald’s list, DT, 21/10). The other meetings have been to resolve conflicts and emergencies, which should be prioritised. Showing grace and patiently taking one’s turn reflects the real essence of our persisting friendships. Trump is right to completely disregard the inanity of Kevin Rudd, proving that humility from the world’s strongest leader reveals his moral superiority, despite the fabrications of the left and their maudlin acolytes of Rudd’s ilk.
