Migration without integration has clearly created a two-tiered society in the UK, unleashing on-the-ground conflict that saw 19-year-old Henry Nowak die because of a dangerous Sikh cultural entitlement letting them carry knives that apparently supersedes British law. In Australia, the Home Affairs ministry is to be strongly praised for attempting to refuse visas when appropriate (“Accused DIDI rapist had lost visa”, “, ST, 7/6). Any migrant escaping their home courts by fleeing here should be extradited rather than enjoy the sympathetic ear of the Administrative Review Tribunal. The Administrative Review Tribunal has now overturned a government’s decision to refuse a visa to that person. If the tribunal keeps wearing its heart on its sleeve, then its decision-makers must bear the direct consequences of their actions. The final decision on visa application success must be with accountable organisations, subject to the will of the Australian people.
