The contrary responses from the Daily Telegraph’s letter writers on the decision-making of the Oatlands Golf Club highlights the complexities being grappled with and the sentimental value of a monument. The name of the development might be called “Leila’s Roses”. With beautifully named children, the streets, squares, arcades and buildings might endow their collective legacy into the local map, which no stone, cross nor epithet could ever have bettered. May their beautiful souls rest in peace while we get this right. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta. 25Nov2021.
