Even though in poor health, dedication, conviction and commitment to excellence saw Judge Peter Zahra work in his life’s passion for the law to the very end. (Loss to the law, 10/5). While the elite among the legal fraternity (and the worst criminally behaved) knew him better than most ordinary Australians, his work ethic and sense of professionalism resonated well with those sharing his dedication and insistence on making Australia a fairer place. With the Parramatta Council searching for a name for their new pool, an opportunity has arisen to write Peter Zahra’s name into our landscape in a manner which is richly deserved, and devoid of political correctness or political grand-standing.
