Although apologising for impulsively defending his wife physically, actor Will Smith generated an equally impulsive response from an audience seeing a man standing up for his mocked wife. Hopefully, Chris Rock will have the grace to also apologise for his infractions. The most humorous aspect of this story is nothing Rock said, but the hilarious claim that Hollywood doesn’t condone violence. Thousands of violent movies have the Hollywood trademark. Will Smith should not have his Oscar removed for breaches of an imaginary moral code while the likes of Woody Allen, Harvey Weinstein and Roman Polanski have all kept theirs.
