As a fan of Bondi Rescue, I was sometimes appalled when CPR was broadcast. After a long medical career, it appeared to me to break all the rules of clinical governance and seriously violate the ethics of patient confidentiality. The surrounding emotion made great sensationalist television. But my mind was changed instantly when reading how a man actually learnt CPR from this show and rescued his brother after being struck by lightning (Battle to save two lightning victims, 8/1). It is amazing how long-held views can change in an instant. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 9Jan2020.
