The letters (27/8) attacking Miranda Devine’s informative viewpoint (Parramatta school go woke, will they go broke? 26/8) failed to undermine her. The Second Vatican Council is used to justify the path taken by the Parramatta diocese in teaching modern “caustic culture” to Catholic children. This council was the greatest revolution in the Catholic Church, resulting in 150,000 priests leaving in the first 10 years alone. The altars of churches were destroyed, since Holy Mass was no longer reliving the sacrifice of Calvary, but celebrating the Last Supper. The Latin Mass was abolished for 20 years. The collapse in parishioner numbers bears testimony to the loss of grace. Churches are based on faith, which often defies logic and science. Letting academic sociologists rewrite the rules can only be done at the expense of compromising faith. The Second Vatican Council continues to count its victims.
