Name-calling left-wingers are allowed to have their say, but they do need to ensure they are not painting themselves into a corner. (The right of religious belief without fear of ridicule – Opinion, 6/10). Attacking new Premier Dominic Perrottet for holding views which are credible and well-defined (having stood the test of time over nearly 2000 years), the left must be hoping they have not underestimated the targets they hoped to bully. Christian beliefs are shared to variable degrees by millions of people around the world. Perhaps many public figures, who appeared before ICAC and other courts might have had better judgment if they had practised any of these values. Regardless, Christianity is not a title, but a daily lifestyle, which ought to produce good in society. Perrottet should be judged by his output as Premier, not his upbringing.
