Women competing against men in the sports arenas and swimming pools of the world has been tolerated under the umbrella of the transgender mindset, accepting a definition of manhood on overly subjective criteria. While perhaps a forgivable experiment in social engineering in non-contact contests, the outrages in the Paris boxing rings at last year’s Olympics shocked the world. As the IOC is preparing to ban trans athletes to protect women’s sport, our belief in common sense should be restored. Our Aussie female swimmers were always world class and I expect they would most probably have thrashed any trans male who dared put a toe in the water. After all, our three most successful gold winners in the pool are all women, with lan Thorpe a distant fourth in their wake. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta 13Nov2025
