The co-ordinated deluge of letters on the Powerhouse Museum all advocating for the project certainly came thick and fast yesterday. (Letters, 25/3). Regrettably, the destruction of the heritage-listed Willow Grove allows height restrictions and land usage for adjoining properties to be redefined. The design submitted for the current Powerhouse can be altered, after the heritage restrictions disappear. I wonder how current proponents will react if 20 floors of residential units are lopped on top. Arguing for a redesign would be easy after the widespread mocking of the ‘milk crate’ shaped building. The community space of the museum would then be restricted by rules governing residential noise and operation times according to council ordinances. In a world where money is king, adding profitable units might be an insurmountable temptation. Alan Sexton, North Parramatta  26Mar2021.
